The klar.gg chess user guide

Works on Chess.com and Lichess.org. Real-time best-move engine with human-like play.

1. About the Product

Klar Chess is a real-time move assistant for Chess.com and Lichess.org. It reads the live board, runs the position through a chess engine, and either shows you the strongest move or plays it for you automatically. You stay in full control of how strong, how fast, and how human it plays.

Note. Klar runs through its own Loader and its own managed Chrome window — there is no browser extension to install. Always launch through the Loader.

2. Getting Started

Requirements

  • Windows PC
  • Google Chrome (installed and up to date)
  • An active Klar Chess license

Setup

  1. Download the Loader from https://klar.gg/loader
  2. Run the Loader and log in with your license.
  3. The Loader opens a managed Chrome window; open Chess.com (or Lichess) inside that window and start a game.
  4. Configure your settings in the Loader (see  4. Settings Explained).
  5. Choose Auto Move or Display Best Move, then play.

3. How to Useimage.png

  1. Launch through the Loader - not your browser. The cheat only works in the window the Loader opens.
  2. After you launch the cheat, a Google Chrome window will open, and you will need to choose between chess.com and lichess.org.
  3. Pick your mode:
    • Display Best Move - Klar shows the recommended move; you play it yourself.
    • Auto Move - Klar plays the move for you automatically.
  4. Dial in strength and timing (Depth, Max Elo, Move Delay, Max Random Delay) so play looks natural.
  5. Play. klar.gg Chess recommends new moves each time a piece changes position.

4. Settings Explained

Depth
How many moves ahead the engine calculates. Higher is stronger and more accurate, but slower and more CPU-heavy. Keep it moderate because very high depth increases errors and slowdowns (see Error 5).

Caps the engine's playing strength to a target rating. Lower values produce weaker, more human moves. Set it close to the rating you want to appear as.

Auto Move
When on, Klar plays the chosen move for you. When off, it only displays it. Turn it off for a more natural, manual feel.

Move Delay
A fixed wait before each move is played or shown. Prevents instant, robotic responses. Set a baseline that matches your normal pace.

Max Random Delay
Adds a random amount of time on top of Move Delay so your timing varies move-to-move. Use it alongside Move Delay to look human.

Display Best Move
Shows the engine's top move on-screen without playing it. Use this for assisted play where you stay in control.

Tip. Natural play comes from Max Elo + Move Delay + Max Random Delay working together. A 2800-rated engine that moves instantly every turn is the easiest pattern to spot.

5. Error Codes and Fixes

Error 1 - Chrome failed to start

Klar's managed Chrome didn't launch correctly.

  1. Make sure Google Chrome is installed and updated.
  2. Fully close all Chrome windows, then relaunch through the Loader.
  3. If it still fails, upload your log file to your ticket

Error 4 - Board can't be read

The klar.gg chess engine can't read the board properly.

  1. Open the Chess.com page in the Klar Chrome window.
  2. Start a game against bots
  3. Click the settings button at the top-right of the board
    • Set the "Piece Notation" setting to "Text".
    1. Set the "Show Board Coordinates" to None
  4. Go to your Board Settings and disable "Show Board Coordinates
  5. Go to your Profile Settings and set "Language" to "English"

Still failing? Reset your desktop colors to default and disable any Nvidia/GPU color adjustments; custom color profiles can interfere with board reading.

Error 5 - Engine failed / move not played

The engine crashed or couldn't complete a move. The most common causes are Max Elo / Depth set too high, or Chrome blocking the bot.

  1. Restart the product and lower your Max Elo and Depth.
  2. Update Chrome and reset it to default; disable extensions, ad blockers, and pop-up blockers.
  3. If it continues, try an older version of Chrome.

6. Best Practices

  • Don't play at max strength. Set Max Elo near your real or target rating. Superhuman accuracy is the number one flag for bans.
  • Always use delays. Combine Move Delay and Max Random Delay so timing varies.
  • Vary your sessions. Don't play dozens of flawless games back-to-back.
  • Launch only through the Loader's Chrome, not your everyday browser profile.

Welcome to Klar.gg!

Using a new product for the first time can appear to be a challenging task. This guide was written to try to simplify the process of using Klar.gg products for first-time users. If you still have questions after reading our installation guide, please open a support ticket.

 

Requirements:
There are a few requirements your computer must meet in order for Klar products to work on your computer.

  • All Klar.gg products work on both Intel and AMD CPUs.
  • Your computer must be running either Windows 10 or Windows 11 with a Winver (Windows Version) of at least 20H2
  • Klar.gg products will not work on custom, modified, or insider versions of Windows. You must be running an official version of Windows.

 

Installation Guide:
Disabling System Settings:

Prior to using Klar, you need to disable some settings on your computer that may impact Klar's performance or functionality. Here is a list of all the features that must be disabled:

  • Real-time protection must be disabled (this setting will be re-enabled after your computer restarts) 
    • It is recommended to use Defender Control to manage your Real-time protection settings since it will keep it disabled after system restarts.
  • Memory Integrity must be disabled (this setting will stay disabled after your computer restarts) 
  • Control Flow Guard (CFG must be disabled (this setting will stay disabled after your computer restarts) 
  • RIOT Vanguard must be disabled (RIOT Vanguard will be re-enabled after your computer restarts) 
  • Any/All RAM cleaners or game optimization software (Reshade) must be disabled

If you forget to disable the required Windows Defender settings, the loader will disable them for you and prompt you to restart your PC. 
If you forget to disable RIOT Vanguard, then the loader will show an error telling you to unload the "vgk.sys" driver.

 

Downloading the Loader:

After disabling the settings and apps mentioned above, you can download and run the Klar loader. To download the Klar loader, visit https://klar.gg/loader and wait a few seconds for the loader to automatically download. Depending on your browser, you may experience an error saying that the Klar loader is "unsafe" or "dangerous". This is called a "false positive" and is triggered because our loader manipulates memory to make the cheats work. Here are some guides to download the loader if you experience this issue:

 

Using the Klar loader:
Creating an Account:

menu_auth.pngTo run the loader, right-click on it and press the "Run as administrator" option. This will run the loader with the elevated permissions it needs to run the cheats. Once the loader opens, you will be shown the login form. Please remember that loader accounts are different from forum accounts, so if you have never used the Klar loader before, you will need to register a new account. To register an account, press the "SIGN UP" text below the "LOG IN" button and fill out the requested information.

Once you press the "REGISTER" button, your account will be created and locked to your current device using your HWID (Hardware ID). Your HWID can change when you reinstall Windows, enable or disable Secure Boot, or switch hardware components. If your HWID changes, you will get a "HWID mismatch" error, and you will need to open a support ticket to reset your loader account's HWID lock.

 

Redeeming a license key:

menu_activate_key.pngRedeeming license keys in our loader can be done ina few simple steps. Once you are signed in, select the product you want to redeem a key for. Enter your license key in the text box at the bottom right of the loader, then press the "START" button. Your license key will begin to expire the moment you press the "START" button. 

Close the side window that appeared and re-click on your desired product. The "START" button should now go across the full width of the side window. Click the button to inject.

If you are using external spoofers from other providers, make sure to load them AFTER loading klar. Restart PC if you want to inject Klar again; otherwise, your loader account will need a HWID reset.
